The National Day of Prayer gives everyone the opportunity to unite with believers across the country and around the world in prayer for our country. We have the invitation to call out to God together, with hope in God’s power and plan.

We join the Psalmist, who wrote, “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” Today we rarely use “refuge” and “fortress” because there are few in our society. A refuge is a shelter or protection from danger or distress. A fortress is a large and permanent fortification.

We invite all who trust God to be their refuge and fortress to come together on Thursday for the 60th National Day of Prayer.
