REMEMBERING RODNEY KING
Sunrise: April 2, 1965 – Sunset: June 17, 2012

Rodney King, whose beating by Los Angeles police in 1991 was caught on camera and sparked riots after the acquittal of the four officers involved, was found dead in his swimming pool Sunday, authorities and his fiancee said. He was 47.

"On behalf of the members of First AME Church of Los Angeles, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Rodney King.

His life and legacy will forever be apart of the history of Los Angeles. His image is apart of a mural located on the plaza level of the First AME Church of Los Angeles, that depicts where Los Angeles has come from since the 1992 Civil unrest. We are praying for his family and ask that everyone keep them in your prayers. "
