First AME Church of Los Angeles opened its doors to the community for the viewing of the Global Telecast of the Michael Jackson Memorial live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Longtime FAME Church member and renowned artist Charles Pickens was commissioned to produce commemorative art for the cover of the memorial program. Pastor John J. Hunter and First Lady Denise Hunter joined those gathered in writing condolence messages to the Jackson Family.
