Local Leaders Unite at FAME Church Calling
for Peace and Delivers Toys to Victims Families

On Monday, December 21st, 2009 Reverend Dr. John J. Hunter, Senior Minister of First AME Church, his wife First Lady Denise Hunter and a team of community leaders held a press conference calling for peace in the City of Los Angeles.

The effort was a collaboration between the Church; Eddie Jones, President of the Los Angeles Civil Rights Association; and three Los Angeles-based motorcycle clubs – Queen’s of Cali, Women’s Ladies Night and Ladies of Top Charity. After the press conference, the group delivered toys and clothing to various organizations that serve families impacted by violence. Pastor John J. Hunter and First Lady Denise Hunter invite the community to visit the Church on Thursday, December 24th, Christmas Eve, at 7 p.m. for a special candlelight service to honor loved ones who’ve lost their lives to violence.
